The Greek economy has no doubt fallen on hard times in the past few years. In 2015, Greece defaulted on a €1.6 billion IMF loan – the first time in history that a developed nation defaulted on such a loan. Since then, Greece has experienced a financial crisis not seen since the Great Depression. Structural problems, funds mismanagement, and systematic tax evasion were chief culprits in the financial storm.
